Every free dental assistant practice resource on this site (one page)
We built a small pile of free tools for people figuring out — or already chasing — a dental assisting career in East Texas. No signup, no catch. Here they all are in one place, grouped by where you are on the journey, so you can stop hunting and start using them.
One page, everything free
All of these live in the PDA toolbox, but this is the plain-English map. Everything below is genuinely free to use right now. You do not have to be enrolled, and you do not have to give us your email to try them. If a tool helps, great — use it. If it makes you want the real thing, we're here for that too.
Stage 1 — Deciding if this is for you
Before you spend a dollar or a weekend, these help you decide with clear eyes:
- Is It For Me? — a quick, honest quiz about whether dental assisting fits your life.
- Career Paths Explorer — where dental assisting can take you, and what each step tends to pay.
- Funding Finder — six questions to see if WIOA or other funding could cover your tuition.
- Take-Home Pay Calculator — what an East Texas dental assistant paycheck really looks like.
- Savings Starter — a simple plan to save your $500 down payment.
- Schedule Planner — see how class fits around your job, your kids, and your life.
- The Family Talk — how to explain this decision to the people who worry about you.
Stage 2 — Learning & practicing
This is the heart of it. These are the tools we're proudest of, because you can practice the real work before anyone hands you a real patient:
- Free Practice Exam — sample RDA-style questions with instant scoring.
- RDA Flashcards — instruments, terms, and infection control — flip and learn.
- PDA Practice Pro — a Dentrix-style practice-management trainer with a real tooth chart.
- PDA ChairSide — a clinical workflow trainer for procedures, trays, and assisting steps.
- How To Chart — dental charting explained the way offices actually do it.
- Study Plan Builder — a week-by-week RDA study plan around your schedule.
If you only click one thing, make it Practice Pro — charting on a real tooth chart is the moment this career stops being an idea and starts feeling real. Curious how it works first? Read inside PDA Practice Pro.
Stage 3 — Getting hired
Training gets you ready; these help you land the job:
- Resume Builder — a dental-assistant resume that reads right to office managers.
- Interview Prep — the questions East Texas offices ask, and strong answers.
- First 30 Days — how to crush your first month in a dental office.
- Resource Hub — guides, checklists, and links for every stage of the journey.
And the Skills Lab
The Skills Lab is a whole practice wing: competencies, simulators, and quizzes. Build a tray in the tray builder, drill terminology and topics in the quizzes, and walk an operatory in the virtual dental office.
Your free-practice checklist
Tap each one as you try it. No account, nothing saved anywhere — just a nudge to actually work through them instead of bookmarking and forgetting.
When you're ready to own the serious prep
A few tools go deeper than free — one-time price, yours forever, and included free when you enroll. No pressure; they're here when you want them: the Exam Pro timed mock state board, the Study Pack of cheat sheets and a study guide, and the guided Exam-Prep Mini-Course.
The free tools stay free whether or not you ever enroll — that's the point. Use them, share them, come back to them. And when you're ready for real chair time and a teacher in the room, enrollment and a look at the East Texas pay ranges are a click away.
Try the tools. Then come build the real thing.
The free trainers are a taste of how we teach. Applying is free and takes minutes.
